– 7am: Arrive at post. No activity at burrow.

– 9am: Male A emerges. Spots me. Eyes locked on my location. No warning bark. 15-20 animals emerge.

– 11am: General play amongst the group. Male A continues monitoring me. I take photo for research identification album.

 – Personal note: so adorable.

– 12pm: Male A continues his surveillance of me. Issues warning bark. Defensive phalanx of 15-20 animals forms and begins scouting mission to the left of burrow. Barking, whistles and teeth bared. I observe nothing to burrow’s left. False alarm?

– 12:15pm: Male A’s eyes locked on mine. 2 animals return with apple and . . . sandwich?  

– 1pm: Return to jeep. Lunch missing.
